Driving the news: The LIBRE Initiative celebrated its 15th anniversary on Sept. 15, 2026, at a gala in Washington, D.C. During the event, the group and its supporters reaffirmed their commitment to the Republican Party, limited government, the eradication of socialism, and the reinvigoration of the American dream.

Among those attending were Fox News anchor and LIBRE spokeswoman Rachel Campos-Duffy, Charles Koch, former Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, and several Capitol Hill lawmakers. Campos-Duffy called LIBRE 'the canary against socialism' and said the group started 15 years ago warning about 'the dangers of the socialist uprising.'

Daniel Garza, the group’s founder and a former adviser to President George W. Bush, said the Hispanic vote has flipped over the past 10 years because of the organization’s efforts. He said LIBRE began in a district that President Barack Obama won by 75%, and that district now belongs to Rep. Monica De La Cruz, R-Texas, and President Donald Trump.

Garza said LIBRE works to inform Hispanic American voters, who make up a majority of the electorate in states like Texas and Georgia. He said the group warns against socialist, big-government policies that far-left politicians could enact.

Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, said he would not have won his election without LIBRE. Rep. Rich McCormick, R-Ga., said the group helps get out information to the Hispanic community and debunks misinformation spread by the Left.

Why it matters: The LIBRE Initiative is treating Hispanic voters as a long game, not a side project. That matters for Republicans because the group is explicitly tying political outreach to limited government, free enterprise, and resistance to socialist ideas.

The bottom line: The fight over Hispanic voters is also a fight over which governing model wins: more bureaucracy and state power, or more self-determination and market-minded politics. LIBRE is betting that message still has room to grow.
